Welcome to Gilded Dragon Studio.  The Gilded Dragon is a small home-based studio located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

I have a BFA in Art (majoring in sculpture) and a BA in Art History, both from the University of Calgary.  Over the last eight years I have indulged my life-long fascination with paper and books by making handmade books, hand decorated papers and incorporating botanical illustrations in the books I create.  Most recently I have begun to use the art of illumination in my books, as well.

Primarily I am a book artist, making books that are works of art in themselves.  I also make journals, fine bindings, and boxes to hold everything from holiday collectibles to my own handmade books.  Generally, I prefer to make one-of-a-kind books but have recently begun making small editions of my books sometimes incorporating text as well as imagery. 

I hope you enjoy looking through my work and, as the site is still under construction, will come back again to see what is new.
